Your
VCC church family is non-denominational. What do we mean by "Nondenominational"? Some of
VCC's guiding principles may help you understand the meaning better.
“We are Christians only, but not the only Christians.”
We are simply Christians, simply followers of Jesus Christ. There really is only one church, one people, in Jesus' mind. All saved people are added to a glorious universal church by Jesus himself, no matter where they live or attend church. All saved people are "Christians". There is not many "kinds" of Christians. Although we wish to be known simply as "Christians", we certainly do not believe we are the "only Christians".
“Unity is our Pole Star.”
The
VCC church family seeks to be cooperative with all Christians and churches when cooperation furthers God's love, God's teachings, a Godly purpose, or God's mission in our community or on earth.
“In Essentials Unity, in Non-essentials Liberty, in All Things Love.”
As followers of Jesus, without compromise, we practice and believe what Jesus clearly taught in the scriptures (essentials). There is a great liberty to live consistently with the Scriptures of Jesus. Where there is Biblical obscurity on some minor point, we permit a "liberty" of choice in these non-essentials. However, in all ways, and at all times, we will love one another regardless of position.

“We Speak where the Bible Speaks. We are Silent where the Bible is Silent.”
We believe the Bible to be the true inspired word from God, and the Scriptures are given to us as the authoritative guide for our belief, practice, and faith. Where the Bible speaks, we will speak and teach these things of God. Where the Bible is silent, we will be silent, rather than promote human wisdom & opinions.
“We do Bible Things in Bible Ways”
We model Biblical ordinances, such as communion and baptism, after the simple examples & teachings given in the New Testament. We seek to model all our practices to be like what the apostles and early Church did, as exemplified in the New Testament. We seek to be the church as simply as the New Testament Church is portrayed in Scripture, and simply do things the way they did.
